Why most fitness programs fail

Traditional fitness training methods accept that a fitness program must be structured in such a fashion that strength movements are performed separately from cardiovascular conditioning.

This approach does not consider that in nature this distinction does not exist. Further, it does not consider that the fitness developed by such a program is lacking in its scope.

The specific nature of such traditional fitness training methods provides specific results but fails to develop the more broad and general range of skills and abilities that are required in everyday physical activity.

The degree of specialisation developed by specific training methods is applicable only to sporting pursuits where specialisation is paramount, such as road cycling but is inappropriate in almost all other instances. In fact, cyclists might even benefit from a more general program (so long as they don’t put on too much weight).

Since there is no dictinction in nature between various types of fitness activity it make sense to trainall modes of fitness in a varied yet cohesive manner. CrossFit provides the framework to develop elite fitness by ulitising functional exercise combined with high intensity. The results speak for themselves.

Six week group fitness intensive

The six week intensive is perfect for anyone that is bored in the gym, is not getting results or simply needs a good kick to get their fitness training started. A structured program has been developed to ensure maximum progression over the six week period. Sessions will involve a variety of exercises including:

  • Kettlebell lifts
  • Olympic weightlifting
  • Gymnastics
  • Callisthenics
  • Plyometrics
  • "Strongman" training
  • Athletics

All sessions are approximately 60 minutes in length and include: warm up, technique introduction and practice, the workout and cool down.

Workouts will be challenging and will require dedication on your behalf. This style of training is suitable for everyone regardless of current fitness levels or ability. All exercises can be scaled to suit your capabilities.

"I have found the Fitness Intensive to be a fantastic experience overall. The Intensive is different to the dozens of boot camps I see making their way around the 'Tan' each day. Rather than being barked at, we are encouraged and all exercises are thoroughly explained. We understand the logic behind what we're doing and learn new exercises every session. We're often sent follow-up articles on things we've learned and both Peter and Adam are happy to answer questions before, during and after each session."

- Heather, South Yarra.

"I was a little unsure about training in the group intensive after having trained as a personal training client. Upon Adam's recommendation I joined the group and now I look forward to turning up to each session; that was not always the case with one-on-one training. It's better than going to a gym. Training with a group of people makes you push a bit harder."

- Garry, East Melbourne.
