Push press, med ball clean, burpees

12 Jun 2009

5×5 Push press

Then:

7 rds

  • 7 Med ball clean (9kg M, 7kg W)
  • 7 Burpees

Note: When you see a set rep scheme presented like 5 x 5 it means that you do not increase the load between sets. So, pick a heavy load to start with and finish your work at that same load. If, on the other hand, the notation is 5-5-5-5-5 increase the load between sets aiming for – in this case – your 5RM (five rep max).

  1. Take a look at the motivating coach in front of Rob.
With a coach like that you could do anything. :o )

    Ben:
Subbed: 2 x 5kg DB clean for MB clean
    60kg 5 x 5 – felt heavy but comfortable enough (5RM 65kg).
5:35 clean circuit – felt good and quick…technique was decent.
    Hanna:
subbed/scaled: 2 x 2.5kg DB clean for MB clean. Burpees chest to focus pad
    30kg 4 x 5reps, 35kg 1 x 5reps – 35kg too heavy today, technique shabby.
7:35 clean circuit. Burpees unbroken (YAY!) as were cleans…just not lightning fast!
Thanks and have a good weekend everyone!

I just did this workout after being down with the flu for 2 weeks. I used 30kg for the push press, to ease back into it. That was moderately hard, but the mb cleans and burpees absolutely destroyed my quads. I did it in about 11mins, and man, am I hating those weeks off now.
